Aphra Brandreth MP, Member of Parliament for Chester South & Eddisbury, has visited the talented young winner of her annual Christmas Card Competition.

This year’s competition saw an incredible response, with creative and colorful entries submitted by children from primary schools across the constituency. The MP was blown away by the number and quality of the entries, making it a tough decision to select the winner.

The first-place winner, Harry from Wybunbury Delves CE Primary School's Year 5 Class, impressed the MP with his imaginative and bright design.

Harry’s artwork has been printed on Aphra Brandreth’s official Christmas cards, which will be sent to senior Members of Parliament, local organisations and charities, and community leaders and constituents.

The runner-up, Nancy, Aged 4, from Wrenbury Primary Schools was also recognised for her impressive design, which featured a smiley Christmas pudding.

Other entries from Esme in Delamere Academy's Year 4 Class, eight year old Jack from Shocklach Oviatt Primary School, and nine year old Jessica from Clutton CofE Primary School, were all highly commended by the MP.

To celebrate their achievements, Aphra Brandreth MP visited both Wybunbury Delves CE Primary School and Wrenbury Primary School, where she presented Harry and Nancy with certificates of achievement, as well as teddy bears from the House of Commons.

Congratulating Harry and Nancy, Aphra Brandreth MP said:

“I was thrilled to see so many wonderful entries for my Christmas Card Competition this year, showcasing the incredible creativity and talent of children in our community.

Harry’s design stood out for its festive spirit, and great attention to detail and I’m delighted to see it being shared far and wide, proudly on the front of my Christmas cards.

Nancy’s design was equally inspiring, capturing the magic of Christmas beautifully. Visiting both schools and meeting these talented young artists has been a real highlight of the festive season. Congratulations to Harry and Nancy!"

Kathryn Chesters, Headteacher at Wybunbury Delves CE Primary School said:

‘Our children at Wybunbury Delves enjoyed entering Aphra’s Christmas card competition. It is amazing to have the winner from our school family. We are super proud of Harry and his beautiful winning design.  Thank you to Aphra for coming to our school to surprise Harry with his prize.’
